THREE TYPES OF COMMERCIAL ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEMS

Discretionary Access Control (DAC). Card access means the business owner is accountable for deciding who is allowed to enter a certain area — digitally or physically. DAC is the least restrictive compared to the other sensitive data systems because it gives you control over the objects you own, as well as the people or programs associated with said objects.

Managed Access Control (MAC). When there aren’t enough resources to manage access control in-house, MAC comes to the rescue. Midwest Alarm administers the programming, cardholder database management and reporting services for you so you can maintain a secure facility without having to become an access control expert.

Role-Based Access Control (RBAC). RBAC is one of the most popular access control solutions across different organizations. This system allows an administrator to assign access. All assignments are based on the subject’s role within the organization and all privileges are limited according to an individual’s responsibilities.
